As I stood atop the rocky cliff, the wind blowing through my hair, I gazed out at the breathtaking view before me. The lush green hills of Mukteshwar spread out as far as the eye could see, their beauty leaving me spellbound.
And at that moment, I knew that my trip to Chauli ki Jali was worth every bit of the effort it had taken to get here.

Chauli ki Jali is a popular tourist destination located in Mukteshwar, a small town in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand, India. The name “Chauli ki Jali” means “a lattice of four windows”, and it is believed to have been named after the latticework on the cliff that serves as a natural fence.
As I made my way toward the cliff, I was struck by the sheer beauty of the place. The winding road that led up to the cliff was lined with tall trees, their branches rustling in the wind.
And as I went nearing the cliff, I could hear the sound of the wind whistling through the latticework, creating an eerie, yet enchanting sound.
when I reached the edge of the cliff, I peered down at the steep drop below. It was then that I saw the true beauty of Chauli ki Jali – the intricate lattice work that covered the entire cliff face. The lattice work was made up of small, interconnected openings that provided a clear view of the valley below.
When I leaned in closer to the lattice work, I could see the valley in all its glory. The hills stretched out for miles, their lush greenery contrasting beautifully with the blue sky above. And in the distance, I could see the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas, their majestic presence a reminder of the true power and beauty of nature.
As I stood there, taking in the breathtaking view before me, I felt a sense of peace and tranquility wash over me. The beauty of Chauli ki Jali, was a testament to the power of nature and the importance of preserving it for future generations to enjoy.

Chauli ki jaliThe best time to visit Mukteshwar throughout the year, as the hill station has a very pleasant temperature. During the summer season, from March to May the weather is pleasant enough for sightseeing and the trees are full of fruits.
During the monsoon months between July and September, Mukteshwar receives heavy rainfall hence avoid visiting it during this time.

Winter months are cold with temperatures varying between a maximum of 17°C and a minimum of 3°C and Mukteshwar receives heavy snowfall. However the roads get blocked during heavy snowfall, so plan accordingly.
ATM: You can find ATM at State Bank of India, Muketshwar, Another option is Bhimtaal which is almost 60 KMs from Muketshwar.
Hospitals: There is a small hospital in Muketshwar.
